are needed to satisfy Pueblo  School District 70 graduation requirements in the Language Arts area.
These courses include:

Satisfactory completion of these four courses fully satisfies credit requirements in the Language Arts area.

Courses taught through the English Department at the Pueblo Technical Academy are based upon the District 70
Language Arts Standards as a minimum requirement of what students should know and be able to do.
 
Language Arts Standards
1. Reading Strategies: Students apply reading strategies to a variety of materials.
2. Writing and Composition: Students write for a variety of purposes.
3. Mechanics and Usage: Students apply rules and knowledge about sentence structure, organization and
language as they write and speak for specific purposes.
4. Speaking and Listening: Students apply rules for speaking and listening to promote effective communication.
5. Multi-media Information: Students locate, select and make use of relevant information from a variety of
print, media and technological sources.
6. Literature: Students recognize literature as a cultural record and as an expression of human experience.
