The School District Board of Education has established that students must obtain 1.5 credits in physical education. A one semester health class is required for students within the district. Although a health class is not offered at the Academy, credit earned for an approved health class outside the Academy may be accepted, or parents/guardians may request that the health class requirement be waived. If waived, students must earn an additional 0.5 elective credits to satisfy total credit graduation requirements. Students at the Academy may obtain physical education credits in four different ways. Students may take classes that are offered at the Academy and/or they may obtain credit from an approved, organized, documented activity outside the Academy. Students can also obtain credit through participation in an athletic program at their area high school or through completion of JROTC classes.

Physical Education classes offered at the Academy include:
Documented PE
Lifetime Sports
Team Sports
Physiology of Exercise

Physical Education Standards:
1. Skills and Careers: Students know and use competent skills in a variety of physical activities and develop awareness of related career opportunities.
2. Physical Fitness Competency: Students demonstrate competency in physical fitness.
3. Team, Dual and Individual Sports: Students demonstrate competency in team, dual and individual sports.
