Several science courses at the Academy qualify for the Dual Credit Programs at Pueblo Community College and/or The University of Southern Colorado. Biology 1 is a District 70 graduation requirement; Physics 1 and Science Technology Lab 1 are courses that all Tech Academy students are expected to take. Courses taught through the Science Department at the Pueblo Technical Academy are based upon the District 70 Science Standards as a minimum requirement of what students should know and be able to do.

Science Standards
1. Scientific Investigation: Students will be able to design, conduct and evaluate a scientific investigation.
2. Interaction of Energy and Matter: Students will analyze the properties and structure of matter forms and transfer of energy, and physical and chemical interactions of matter and energy.
3. Interaction of Living Things/Environment: Students will analyze processes of life and how living things interact with their environments.
4. Dynamics of Earth and other Celestial Bodies: Students will evaluate and analyze the processes and interactions of Earth's systems, and the structure and dynamics of Earth and other celestial bodies.
5. Resources of Science and Technology: Students will evaluate the usefulness of resources, and explain how applications of science, technology and human activity impact the world.
6. Connection of Science and Technology: Students will apply common connections among the science disciplines and relationships of science and technology to areas of human activity.
